  • Strategic planning, change management and leadership development
  • System-level design and implementation of personalized, competency-based learning

Deion A. Jordan partners with learning communities across the country to design and implement systems that advance personalized, competency-based learning. His work centers on helping education leaders build coherence across strategy, practice and culture, building the capacity of teachers, principals, superintendents and cross-sector partners to align vision with execution.

With experience spanning classroom innovation, network design and state- and district-wide transformation, Deion brings a systems lens to every engagement, focusing on how structures, policies and people interact to enable sustainable change. He leads and supports regional, district and statewide partnerships that support education systems in translating learner-centered visions into actionable strategies through design, implementation and continuous improvement.

True transformation begins when we see ourselves, individually and collectively, as architects of the systems that will prepare every learner to thrive in a world that’s constantly evolving.

Previously, Deion served as Educator-in-Residence at Getting Smart, co-developing a national competency-based performance framework for the XQ Super School Network, and as Director of Competency-Based Learning at Crosstown High, where he helped scale mastery-based practices schoolwide.

Deion believes that realizing the full promise of public education requires systems that elevate both learners and educators as co-designers of the future. He enjoys books about and discussions on philosophy, civil debates, jazz music and history, running and spending time with friends.
